Look beyond the surface finish
For a Costa del Sol kitchen I review room ventilation, splash areas and the details around the sink, dishwasher and worktop joints. An attractive finish does not replace correct sealing or installation to each product’s instructions.
Moisture resistance is product-specific
Manufacturers distinguish between references, substrates and applications. EGGER, for example, identifies moisture-resistant substrates within its worktop range. That does not automatically apply to every board or make a whole kitchen waterproof. I check the chosen product’s technical sheet and limits before specifying it.
A home that stands empty between visits
For a second home, agree how leaks will be checked and how ventilation will be maintained between stays. For fronts, hardware and stone, follow manufacturer care instructions: different surfaces do not accept the same cleaners. I select around how you actually use and look after the property.
