Compare the same project
A price difference may come from another finish, fewer drawers, a different worktop or services that only one proposal includes. Before deciding which offers better value, check that you are comparing equivalent kitchens.
Use the same plan and a shared list of requirements. If a supplier suggests an alternative, ask what changes and how it affects everyday use. You can then decide whether the saving is worth the difference.
Ask for clearly defined cabinetry
The proposal should identify the planned furniture: layout, dimensions, front type, finish and interior components. It helps to distinguish basic cabinets from accessories that add organisation or convenience.
- Layout: confirm which tall, base and wall units or island are included.
- Finishes: check the front material and reference, visible side panels and handles or opening system.
- Interiors: ask about drawers, bins, organisers, pantry and corner solutions.
- Finishing elements: check plinths, panels, fillers and other components needed to complete the arrangement.
Review worktops and appliances
Descriptions such as “stone worktop” or “appliances included” leave too much unresolved. Ask for product references and scope: material, planned thickness, joints, cut-outs and the work included in fitting the worktop.
Compare specific appliance models. Check dimensions, features that matter to you and compatibility with the furniture. If you are keeping an existing appliance, that should be recorded as a condition of the design.
Clarify delivery, installation and other work
Ask who will deliver and install the kitchen, which tasks are covered and what must be ready at the property. Difficult access, an unfinished renovation or changes to services can affect coordination.
| Item | What to clarify |
|---|---|
| Delivery | Transport, access and reception arrangements. |
| Installation | Included work, finishing details and coordination. |
| Renovation | Removal of the old kitchen, plumbing, electrics and building work, where applicable. |
| Final amount | Taxes, excluded items and potential additional costs. |
A task that is not listed should not be assumed to be included. Clarify it before approving rather than discovering it halfway through the work.
Finish with a proposal you understand
Review payment terms, expected timelines and how changes or issues are handled. Keep the quote, approved design and product references together.
A useful quote tells you what you are buying, what is excluded and what happens next.
At COSTAHAUS we consider the kitchen as a complete project. The aim is to help you choose through a defined proposal shaped around your space and priorities, rather than choosing on price alone.
