Separate the kitchen from the building work
For a home in Mijas, Fuengirola or Marbella, I first clarify whether you want replacement cabinets or a redesigned room. Changing the layout can add electrical work, plumbing, extraction, finishes or flooring. A cabinet price alone is not the cost of a complete renovation.
Straight, L-shaped or island: what changes
For a straight kitchen I review usable wall length and tall units. An L-shape adds a corner and its storage. An island also needs consideration of end panels, stone edges, supports and services if it contains a hob or sink. The same layout can carry very different budgets depending on specification.
What to ask for in writing
